FOUR Hucknall girls were in fine voice when they launched a fundraising carol-singing tour during Christmas.

They went around Vaughan Estate singing festive favourites for residents.

Julie Parkes, of Frances Grove, whose 11-year-old daughter, EMILY, was one of the carol singers, said their initiative had raised £42.

Two of the other girls were HOLLY DAVIS and ABIGAIL HART, who are both 12. The fourth girl has asked not to be identified. All are pupils at Hucknall National Church Of England Academy.

The charities to benefit are Parkinson’s UK, Multiple Sclerosis UK and Believe In Magic. Julie suffers from Parkinson’s disease and Abigail’s mum has multiple sclerosis.

“I would like to thank the people of Vaughan Estate, firstly for their generosity and secondly for having faith in these girls that they were genuinely collecting money for charity,” said Julie.

“For the girls to have chosen to do something like this shows that kids aren’t all bad.”
