THE CARERS IN HUCKNALL group has received a cash boost from a local councillor.
Coun Kevin Rostance, a Hucknall Conservative member of Notts County Council who is the Cabinet member for adult social care and health, has donated £400 to the group from a pot which members receive for deserving causes in their wards.
The Carers chairman, Jim Radburn, has expressed his thanks and said the money would be used to pay rent for group meetings at Hucknall Library.
Coun Rostance and the county council’s day services director, John Wilson, attended a meeting of the group last month for a discussion about services for people with dementia.
At the group’s latest meeting, it was announced that future activities would include a boat trip on Tuesday June 19.
