THE GOVERNMENT has confirmed it will pay £4.25 million to help provide super-fast broadband to homes and businesses throughout Hucknall and the rest of Nottinghamshire.
As reported in the Dispatch, Notts County Council is behind a £17 million Internet vision.
It wants to provide broadband connections at 116,000 properties in current blackspots.
The funding from government will add to £2.15 million from County Hall, £1 million from district and borough councils, including Ashfield, and £8.5 million from a telecommunications contractor. Work is expected to start next year.
