The chairman of Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust has pledged to make services better for patients by following recommendations in a new report.
Sean Lyons said that the Trust has already started to make changes outlined in the Keogh Report and action plan which was published in July.
He said: “We are absolutely committed to providing the best quality services for the many thousands of patients who use our hospitals every day, and that is why we have responded to all of the recommendations in the Keogh Review report.
“We already had some actions in progress at the time of the review visit and since that time we have made many more improvements on immediate issues.
The Trust said that key actions that have already been taken. An example of the changes include appointing the director of nursing and quality as the executive clinical lead for complaints.
Clearing the complaints backlog and beginning to redesign the process. It is now being consulted on for implementation during the Autumn.
The Trust said “Intentional rounding” is being implemented across the Trust to ensure regular patient checks at planned times are also being carried out.
The hospital will be inspected by Professor Sir Mike Richards, chief inspector of hospitals, to examine the proposed changes and quality of patient care and services.
