A HUCKNALL charity is gearing up to mark World Autism Day — and is aiming to support all those with a wide variety of disabilities and special needs.
Indigo Kids, which has a main base on Annesley Road, was launched in 2007 and helps families who have members with autism.
One of its central events coincides with World Autism Day. This year, the focus is on Hucknall Leisure centre on Saturday March 31.
More than 30 stands will be in the main hall where service providers will offer information and advice for those facing autism, plus other conditions such as Asperger’s syndrome and also physical and learning difficulties.
A secondary room will provide a ‘time out’ zone for children, complete with Wii computer consoles and games. Other attractions will include a bouncy castle and football-coaching sessions.
