CHILDREN IN NEED: Knockout blow by sparring kickboxer

BULWELL teenager Nathan Capeness gets a real kick out of raising money for charity.

And Nathan (17), of Latham Street, was in his element with a marathon challenge to boost the BBC’s Children In Need appeal.

The Hucknall Town Kickboxing Club member completed an exhausting sparring marathon of 100 rounds in the ring at the club’s headquarters on Portland Road.

The gruelling five-hour stint against all-comers is likely to yield hundreds of pounds but the total is still being counted.

Nathan’s dad, Keg, who runs the club, said his son’s willingness to take on such a taxing challenge was ample proof of his dedication.

A kickboxer from the age of four and the winner of five British belts, Nathan has now achieved five sparring fundraisers in successive years.
