A GARAGE sale helped a summer fundraising fair at St John’s Church in Hucknall get into top gear.
Items donated for the event were literally sold from the garage, which is part of the Nottingham Road church.
More than 200 visitors turned out for the attraction, which raised almost £500 to boost church funds.
The event also featured a series of stalls selling items ranging from bric-a-brac to cakes, jewellery and clothing. Youngsters also enjoyed trying on outfits from a dressing-up rail.
Traditional games for children included hook-a-duck, while a tombola and a raffle attracted plenty of interest.
The attractions were held indoors and outdoors to prepare for any changes in the weather.
The annual event was organised by Beverley Kellam and her husband, David, who is a reader at the well-established church.
Beverley said: “We are pleased with how things went. It was pretty well attended and there was a real family atmosphere.
“We had a lot of support from local residents and, on behalf of the church, we would like to thank everyone who came along and those who helped to stage the event.”
