THE MAJESTY of God was the theme of the popular annual flower festival at the United Reformed Church in Hucknall.

Given the title ‘The Flower And The Glory’, the festival featured colourful arrangements that depicted the power of the Lord.

Eleven creations focused on a rainbow, the four seasons, families, music, heaven’s angels, domestic animals, lilies of the field, harvest, wild animals and personal gifts and skills.

But one of the tables stood out from the rest. For it was a tribute to church elder Pam Cross, who died recently.

Pam always created an arrangement for table number two at the event. So it was decided to fill this with a central candelabra and pink roses in her memory.

More than 100 visitors went along to the two-day festival at the Farleys Grove church and helped raise £430.

Organiser Neil Burrows said: “It was exceptional. Everyone worked very hard and we had some lovely comments.”
