Classes affected as teachers strike again

CLASSES were again disrupted at a handful of schools in Bulwell as teachers walked out for the third in a series of one-day strikes.

Members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) are protesting against plans by Nottingham City Council to switch to a five-term school year.

The alterations would mean changes to the school-holiday pattern and a clash with the calendar at schools elsewhere in the county.

On Wednesday (April 25), Cantrell Primary on Cantrell Road, Crabtree Farm Primary on Steadfold Close, Rufford Primary and Nursery, of Hoewood Road, and Springfield Nursery and Primary, of Lawton Drive, partially closed because of striking staff.
