A HATFUL of cash was collected when the Bon Marche shop in Bulwell staged a fundraising event with an ‘Alice In Wonderland’ theme in aid of Comic Relief.
The attraction took the form of a Mad Hatter’s tea party/coffee morning at the store on Main Street.
Staff dressed as characters from the fairytale, such as the Queen Of Hearts, card soldiers and the Mad Hatter himself.
A total of £221 was bolstered by a raffle, which featured ‘Alice In Wonderland’ goodies, including a Cheshire cat.
Assistant manager Sharon Bowley, who took on the role of the Mad Hatter, said: “We had a laugh with our customers while raising money for a tremendously worthwhile cause.
“The whole message was to do something funny for money and we certainly did that.”
