STAFF at the Hucknall branch of Specsavers had a nose for fundraising when they took part in Comic Relief Day last Friday. A RED nose, to be exact!

They donned red noses, colourful hairstyles and special T-shirts for the nationwide event.

The High Street optician’s was also decked out with red balloons. A tombola, with prizes that included wine, chocolate and beauty products, was also held. By charging 50p for a ticket, the store raised £81.

A spokeswoman said: “We had a brilliant laugh. It was something of a non-uniform day for a wonderful cause.”

As part of Specsavers’ wider commitment to the charity initiative, staff at the company’s call centre in Nottingham volunteered their time to answer the phones for Comic Relief.
