Compensation for Woolies workers

COMPENSATION has been secured for Bulwell employees of Woolworths who were made redundant when the firm collapsed in 2008.

More than 24,000 workers lost their jobs, including those who worked at the long-standing store on Main Street.

Now the shopworkers’ union, Usdaw, has negotiated compensation worth up to a total of £67.8 million after the failure by administrators to consult with the union over redundancies.
