Council returns to old decision-making system

NOTTS County Council has become one of the first local authorities in the UK to return to its old system for making important decisions.

Since 2000, it and other major councils have operated under a leader and Cabinet system.

But now it has returned to one of cross-party committees, which means major moves that could affect Hucknall will be fully discussed by a large number of councillors and officers before being passed or rejected by the full council.
