Recent cases dealt with by Nottinghamshire magistrates

ASSAULT

Patrick Johnson (27) of Kennington Road, Nottingham, was found guilty of assaulting Matthew Farmer by beating him in Bulwell on 20th August. A warrant for his arrest has been sworn out.

Jason Lee Potter (44) of Wingbourne Walk, Bulwell, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her. The offences took place between 26th March and 26th April. He has been remanded on unconditional bail until 16th June for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Nqobile Mafu (43) of Booth Close, Nottingham, admitted assaulting a woman on Longford Crescent in Bulwell on 4th May. He has been remanded on bail until 26th June for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and ordered not to enter Bulwell.

WEAPON

Lee John Wynn (34) of Woodborough Road, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to carrying an unloaded air rifle into the Tesco on Jennison Street in Bulwell on 27th November 2014. Nottinghamshire magistrates ordered that he comply with an alcohol treatment course for six months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85. The air rifle was forfeited under section 52(1) of the Firearms Act 1968 and destroyed.

THEFT

Sarah Louise Hansford (36) of Grindon Crescent, Bulwell, admitted stealing alcohol and perfume worth £110 from B&M Bargains and Wilkinsons in Bulwell on 5th March. Magistrates committed her to prison for a total of seven weeks, because of her previous record. It was suspended for 12 months, during which time she must comply with a rehabilitation requirement.

Tesfa Richards (32) of Highbury Road, Bulwell, admitted stealing various food items from the Co-op store in Nottingham on 9th October and 22nd October last year. He also admitted having a kitchen knife with a three inch blade without good reason or lawful authority on 8th January. He also admitted stealing two gift sets from Boots in Nottingham, worth £87, on 3rd November 2014 and possessing traces of cocaine on 25th January. He also admitted carying a knife without good reason or lawful authority on 25th January in Nottingham. He was discharged for six months.

Leon Junior Saunders (21) of Lime Tree Road, Hucknall, admitted damaging a bay window on Ruffs Drive, Hucknall, worth £100 on 2nd May. He was remanded on bail until 24th June for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. He was ordered not to go to Ruffs Drive.

MOTORING

Denis J Matthews (40) of Aitchison Avenue, Hucknall, admitted driving at 37mph in a 30mph zone in Nottingham on 20th December 2014. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £35. His driving license was endorsed with three points. He denied driving with only an expired provisional license but the charge was proved in his absence.

He also failed to stop for a red light in Nottingham on 12th February 2014 and was fined £150, with costs of £35. He was disqualified from driving for six months.

Jake Guido Theisen (23) of Ascot Drive, Hucknall, admitted driving at 44mph in a 30mph zone in Underwood on 25th June. He was fined £70 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and costs of £85. His driving license was endorsed with three points.

Sean Frank Johnson (31) of Falcon Way, Hucknall, was found guilty of driving while using a hand-held mobile phone on Bestwood Park Drive West on 12th August. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £20 and costs of £85. His driving license was endorsed with three points.

Dale Peter Bennett (31) of Potters Hollow, Bulwell, was found guilty of driving a car while using a hand-held mobile phone in Nottingham on 13th August 2014. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85. His driving license has been endorsed with three points.

Garise Ropafadzai (29) of Winterton Rise, Nottingham was found guilty of failing to stop for a red light on 12th August 2014 on Bulwell High Road. She was fined £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85. Her driving license has been endorsed with three points.

Sierra Elizabeth Sarai Cano-Nunns (32) of Linby Road, Hucknall, admitted failing to stop for a red light on 13th August 2014. She was fined £37 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85 and her driving license was endorsed with three points.

LIABILITY ORDER

A liability order was made against Paul Rushnen Carty (43) of Odessa Drive, Bulwell, for £6793 of unpaid child support and costs by Nottinghamshire magistrates on 14th May.
