Police have warned householders in Hucknall to be cautious of anyone calling at their homes offering to carry out unsolicited work.
On Tuesday August 11 a man with an Irish accent called at a house on Palmer Avenue, claiming to be cleaning gutters in the area and while the householder was distracted money was stolen.
Inspector Nick Butler said: “Please inform your family and friends of this crime, warning them to be cautious of anyone calling at their homes offering to carry out unsolicited work there and then.
“If approached refuse the offer and lock your door, then as soon as possible, contact the police on 101.”
Thieves broke into a flat on Lilac Road in Hucknall via an unlocked front door around midnight on August 13 and stole a Ford Focus and its keys.
A white Coyote bike was stolen from a home on Edgewood Drive, Hucknall, on Sunday August 16.
A motocross bike and equipment, along with a pit bike, a child’s motor bike and an air rifle were stolen from a gargage in New Westwood, Westwood overnight on Tuesday August 18.
Attempts were to break into a garage on Story Garden in Hucknall, but nothing was taken.
