The man who is the voice of the Daleks and other formidable characters,Nick Briggs, was one of the special guests at a family fun day.

“We were thrilled about how the event went at the weekend,” said Joanne Burman, team librarian at Nottinghamshire County Council. “We had around 890 people in the library with visitors travelling from across the county and further afield such as Whitby and Scarborough.

“We had a great mix of young and old alike, and it was a great opportunity to remind people of everything that Mansfield Library has to offer and that it is open on Sundays.

“The Q and A session with the Daleks was particularly fun – one youngster asked if they liked the band One Direction and was told that the Daleks wanted to ‘exterminate them!’, and then the Daleks finished with a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody to the audience’s delight.”
