Dancers waltz off with array of prizes

BEAMING members of the Tait Stanley School of Dancing in Bulwell have waltzed their way to a hatful of prizes at its annual medal presentation.

Pupils took tests with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing in grades ranging from rainbow awards for the under-eights through to national awards for more experienced dancers.

The awards were presented at Tait Stanley’s headquarters on Rock Street by Mark and Julie Sumner, who have been members of the school for many years.

On hand to oversee the event were principals Maurice Tait and Yvonne Stanley, who have run the school since they took over in 1984.

Other attractions included an adult and child square-tango competition with the emphasis on fun.

For members aged six and under, there was a merengue competition.
