THE YEARS spent by children at primary and junior schools has been marked by the presentation of illustrated dictionaries by the Rotary Club of Bulwell and Basford.

As part of the its innovative ‘Dictionaries For Life’ programme, which began three years ago, the club has dished out more than 250 Usborne illustrated dictionaries to children at 15 schools.

To celebrate the latest part of the project, members visited Hempshill Hall Primary School in Bulwell.

Rotarians Bill Smith, John Heading and Graham Hayes handed out 47 of the books during a special ceremony to children who are set to go on to secondary education.

Children at St Mary’s Church Of England Primary School have also received dictionaries recently.
