THE magic of Disney shone through at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Hucknall where a Christmas fair fundraiser owed much to community spirit and teamwork.

The efforts of the church members, led by Rita O’ Laughlin and vicar the Rev Jo Stephens, were rewarded as the colourful event brought in £832.

Disney characters, including several Snow Whites, Robin Hood and Maid Marian, Alice and the Mad Hatter, clowns, fairies and Mickey Mouse all looked the part. But it was the bell ringing Santa in the shape of Ray Hallett who added magic to the proceedings with his presence.

Bargain hunters were spoilt for choice and a variety of stalls included books, cakes, toys, bric-a-brac and knitted goods while a prize draw helped swell funds.”The Christmas Fair fas been great fun and owes much to everyone who has helped and to those who supported the event and helped raise the wonderful total,” said Rita.
