THE DISPATCH Office on Yorke Street in Hucknall will close today (Friday) — but your local and vocal paper will still be at the heart of the community it has served for 109 years.
Publication of the newspaper will be unaffected by the move and readers will still be able to pick up their copy at the usual outlets every Friday.
Contributors and advertisers can also continue to expect the same high standards of service from our teams.
The move has come about after a detailed review of the use of the office (pictured) and we have opted for basing our reporters out and about more — in the place you want them most, the community.
We will be available to meet with you so you can drop off your news items, letters, entertainment stories and photos in Hucknall and Bulwell from now on.
Regular ‘surgeries’ will be held by our news team where you can drop in and tell us your stories.
The first of these will be at Hucknall Library on Market Place next Tuesday morning (9.30 am to 11 am) and details of future ‘surgeries’ will be printed in the pages of the Dispatch every week.
You can also contact us by phone by dialling 0115 9446160, or drop us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For your advertising needs — small ads and family notices — as well as news items, you won’t have to go far either.
For we now have a ‘Community Postbox’ based at the Johnson’s newsagents on High Street. Just pop in and drop them off and we will do the rest.
Deputy editor Martin Hutton said: “New technology means our reporters do not have to based at an office — they will be out and about and you will see them much, much more.”
You can still, of course, visit the new office base at 8 Heanor Road, Ilkeston, DE7 8ER.
Don’t forget you can keep up to date will all the latest breaking news and sport via our website at www.hucknalldispatch.co.uk.
There is also an added incentive to subscribing to the Dispatch every week. For you can freeze the cover price.
