A FUNERAL director’s firm is urging Hucknall residents to shell out and back its annual appeal to collect Easter eggs for a well-known charity based in the town.
Co-operative Funeralcare, of Portland Road, is again calling for donations of chocolate Easter treats in aid of the Hope Lea Project on Watnall Road.
Hope Lea is a volunteer-run service for adults with learning disabilities.
Co-operative Funeralcare has supported the charity for several years now, through the Easter appeal, in a bid to put smiles on the faces of Hope Lea service-users.
Anyone who would like to support the initiative can drop the eggs in to Bev Bullock at the Co-operative Funeralcare base until Tuesday April 3.
Bev, who is a funeral arranger, said: “As a local business, we want to help and support people within the community who, for whatever reason, may need a bit of cheer this Easter.”
The collection of Easter eggs will be presented to Hope Lea on Wednesday April 4, ahead of the Easter weekend.
Hope Lea, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009, is run by stalwart volunteer Judith Storey MBE.
