Edwinstowe and Dukeries Lions Club: Preparations underway for latest charity events

Well it’s here I think! We’ve got some summer, fingers crossed we have plenty more as our outdoor events are so much more successful with the help of good weather.

The lions are attending the Wellow May Day celebrations around the Maypole on the 26th of May, we also have one of our golf days a few days later.

Not affected by the rain is our annual quiz night, which is held at The Jubilee Hall Ollerton on the 6th of June. It may be possible to still enter a team although we are nearly there in numbers.

The teams are of no more than six and the entry is £7.50 per person. You bring your own drink but food is supplied with the ticket.

The Edwinstowe and Dukeries Lions are also pleased to announce that one of our members, Stephen Gree, has been made zone chairman for our region.

We as a club are very proud of him and wish him all the best with his new role for the coming year.

Finally it looks like we will be announcing a couple of new members in the near future. New members offer our club so much, not just the extra bodies but different ideas, we are always looking for people to join us, we have lots of fun both as lions and as friends,

We have a great desire to serve the needy in our community, and with more members it is easier to raise more funds to help those worthy causes.
