BURGLERS who raided the Hucknall home of a couple aged in their 70s stole keys and made off in the pensioners’ BMW car.
The break-in happened at the property on Holbeck Road between 2 am and 7 am on Thursday last week. The couple were upstairs at the time.
The burglars got in through the front door and also stole a handbag and door keys to the house. They escaped in a blue BMW 530, which is valued at £6,000.
The pensioners, who have not been named, were shocked to find their home had been raided. They have had to have all their locks replaced.
Hucknall’s police chief, Insp Nick Butler, said: “People should be extra vigilant and hide their keys when they go to bed at night.
“This sort of break-in is difficult for a homeowner, particularly when they are there at the time.
“I urge anyone who sees someone acting suspiciously at night to report it to the police.”
