AN ONLINE ‘energy calculator’ has gone live to help Bulwell residents cut down their gas and electricity bills.
Nottingham City Council has launched the system, which uses satellite technology.
It offers advice on making homes more energy efficient, such as solar panels and improved insulation, and in turn shows how much each of those changes can save on bills.
The kit also points users in the direction of reputable tradesmen who would be able to carry out the work.
The calculator is part of the council’s community climate-change strategy which, by 2026, aims to achieve a 26% reduction in the city’s carbon footprint compared with 2005’s level.
A funding scheme for eco-friendly projects will also be launched.
