The planning go-ahead is being sought for a large wind turbine on farmland at Kirkby.
The proposal from Cirrus Energy Ltd of Maidenhead, Berkshire is for a single wind turbine in a large arable field directly to the south of Coxmoor Road.
At its tallest point from the ground to the tip of the blade, the turbine will be 79m high.
In its application to Ashfield District Council, the company says the turbine would generate 500kw, enough to power 320 households.
The application includes associated infrastructure including a transformer, substation, crane hard standing, temporary construction are and an access track measuring 250m by 5m.
A community consultation exercise has been undertaken to inform local residents of the proposal with letters sent out to people living within 1km of the proposed site.
Letters objecting to the proposals have been on the grounds of potential noise and concerns about extra traffic.
In the company’s planning statement the turbine is considered to comply with planning policy in terms of visual amenity and noise.
