Fairway care home’s charity hole in one

A CARE home built on the site of the former Golden Ball pub off St Albans Road, Bulwell, has held a summer fair fundraiser.

The proceeds of more than £500 will provide activities and entertainment for residents of the Fairway View home.

The home is appropriately named because it overlooks Bulwell Forest golf course. Staff members, led by manager Tracey Milllband, ran games and fun-filled challenges. These included ‘hook-a-duck’, using a real fishing rod!

A ‘win a bottle’ hoop-la challenge provided a competitive edge while a ‘name the teddy bear’ game had its supporters, as did a pluck-a-duck.

Fine weather played its part in the success of the fair and the organisers were delighted with the amount raised to reward their efforts.
