A family fun day is set to raise funds in memory of a Hucknall teenager who died following a collision.
The bid to provide a permanent memorial to 16-year-old Joe Cannon – who died two days after he was involved in an accident with a Ford Transit van – has a target of £2,000 and has already raised more than £300. The fundraising fun day is set for Sunday August 30 at Rolls Royce Leisure and starts from midday onwards. Monisha Lindo, campaign founder, said: “Joe Cannon, also known as Cheek, was in an accident and was left fighting for his life in hospital for two days, but sadly he didn’t pull through.”
The funeral will be held on Friday August 21, meeting on Laughton Crescent by 12.30pm for a service at St Mary’s Church at 1pm. Hundreds attended a vigil for the popular 16-year-old following his death.
