Fancy being a ‘special’?

A RECRUITMENT day is to be held in Hucknall in a bid to attract more volunteer police officers to bolster the thin blue line.

Anyone interested in becoming a special constable is invited to the police base at the Arrow Centre (formerly the International Clothing Centre) at the top of Annesley Road on Saturday November 5.

‘Specials’ already play a key role in policing in Hucknall, especially in the town centre on weekend nights.

Supt Paul Anderson said: “Volunteering as a special constable gives people the chance to learn new skills by working alongside regular officers to make communities across Nottinghamshire safer.”

The event in Hucknall is part of a series of recruitment days being held across the county. It will feature presentations and help in applying.
