A HUCKNALL church has said goodbye to its popular Kenyan-born minister after five years at the helm.

Members of St Peter and St Paul’s on Ruffs Drive staged a special event to mark the end of the REV DANIEL NJUNGUNA’S stay in the town.

The fun-filled celebration featured bouncy castles and a barbecue and came after his final service.

It gave everyone connected with the church the chance to thank Mr Njuguna for all he has done.

He has left to become vicar of Wednesbury in the Lichfield diocese in the West Midlands.

Mr Njuguna was born in the town of Nakuru in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. He was ordained in 2000, came to England in 2002 and moved to Hucknall in 2006. He has a wife, Anna, and two young children, Leo (six) and Emil (four).
