Five men were arrested after a fight between two groups of football fans on a Sheffield Station platform.

British Transport Police have launched an appeal after the fight on Saturday, October 31 at 6.40pm on platform 8.

BTP said the fight involved Nottingham Forest supporters and ‘supporters of another club’. Forest lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday in a match at Hillsborough that day.

A statement from the force said: “Were you at Sheffield station on Halloween shortly after 6.30pm? Did you witness a fight break out between rival football fans? If you did, British Transport Police officers want to hear from you.”

DC Lee Parsons said: “The fight broke out on the stairs to platform 8 between Nottingham Forest fans and supporters of a rival club. Punches were exchanged between the groups.

“This was a frightening scene witnessed by many members of the public who were at the station. We appeal to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.”
