Staff at Specsavers in High Street are appealing to customers and the community to drop off any tinned or packaged goods in aid of the Engage Foodbank.
People can drop off non-perishable items from Saturday 27th December through to Saturday 31st January.
Store director Janet Archer said: ‘We have always thought the Foodbank collection was a great local cause to help as it serves people in need in our town during these tough times.
“Shoppers may wish to bring in leftover ingredients they don’t use from the Christmas period or pick up an extra tin during a weekly shop.
“Just one item goes a long way, so we are asking our customers for their support.”
Hucknall’s Engage Foodbank is a project by Churches Together Hucknall, Linby and Papplewick (CTHLP) and is based at Under One Roof on Vine Terrace.
