A football fun day has been organised to raise money for Bobo’s Fund.
Linby Football Club on Church Lane will be hosting the event on Saturday 3rd August.
The event has been organised by Jamie Brough who helps run children’s football club, the Linby Rangers.
“I have read in the Dispatch about Beau and wanted to do some fundraising to help the family,” said Jamie of Sheridan Way, Hucknall.
“So I thought I could combine a fun football tournament with raising money.”
Two year-old Beau is suffering from a rare terminal illness called Sanfilippo Disease, which means he has to be fed through a tube in his stomach, has mobility problems, is blind and has a catalogue of other health issues.
The community has rallied round the family supporting them through fundraising to buy specialist equipment.
“I have three children of my own so the story really touched me and I wanted to help,” added Jamie.
“I am charging each player £1 to enter and there will be lots of fun activities like a bouncy castle, DJ and raffle to help boost funds further.”
The event runs from 9am-1pm.
