A Nottingham Forest footballer, who lives in Papplewick, has been fined in court for speeding.

Striker Dexter Blackstock (28), of Hall Lane, was caught just before midnight on Saturday 11th January earlier this year. Blackstock was charged with clocking a speed of 52mph in his Audi car on the A52 Clifton Boulevard in Nottingham, which has speed limits of 40mph and 50mph.

Blackstock pleaded guilty. He was fined £130 and ordered to pay court costs of £85, plus a victim surcharge of £20. His licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

He signed from Queen’s Park Rangers for a seven-figure transfer fee in July 2009, and signed a new four-year contract in January 2013.
