Members of Hucknall Rotary Club took part in a gruelling night-time trek through Sherwood Forest to raise money for new sports facilities at a college for disabled pupils.

The Fright Hike challenge, dubbed the ‘spookiest charity challenge around’, was held on Saturday 25th October.

Rotarians John Hill, Ashley Maddock, Neil South and Stuart Whitehead completed the circuit in just under five hours and were the fourth team to finish out of all the entrants.

The Rotary Team were raising funds for new sports facilities at Portland College, near Ravenhead and hope to raise £2,000 by the time all donations have been received.

Ashley Maddock said: “It was very tough and we had to dig deep to keep going but we knew it was worth the blisters and tired feet because we were supporting such a worthy local cause.”
