A FUN on the Forest event centred around health and wellbeing will take place in Bulwell next month.
The day at Bulwell Forest will feature stalls and activities, including a five-a-side football tournament organised by Nottinghamshire Police, badge-making, wildlife-themed crafts and a display by a free running group.
The health-themed day follows the Dispatch’s recent report on health figures for Bulwell which revealed that men in the town die almost ten years younger than in other parts of Nottingham.
The report also revealed that Bulwell suffers from poor levels of health and high levels of obesity, illness and deprivation.
Bill Blackmore, member of the Fun on the Forest organising committee, said he hoped as many people as possible would come along and get involved.
“This is an event designed to bring our communities in Bulwell together in a day of fun and celebration,” he said.
The event has been organised by the Bulwell Forest Action Group, Rise Park Action Group, Top Valley Tenants and Residents’ Group and Bulwell Forest Neighbourhood Action Team.
Organisations are still wanted to run stalls at the event, which is on Saturday September 10.
