Fundraising success in honour of tragic crash victims

THE ninth annual fundraising garden party, held at a Hucknall address in memory of two people who died in a tragic motorbike accident, was well patronised.

The event honoured the memory of Paul Basford (32) and his partner, Tina Artingstall (37), who lived together in Bulwell. Both were killed in the crash, which occurred near the Nottinghamshire village of Barton-in-Fabis in September 2001.

The popular garden party has taken place in the back garden of Mr Basford’s family at 362 Watnall Road every year since the accident. The event has been consistently well supported, with proceeds in aid of the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Attractions at the six-hour event included a barbecue, a bric-a-brac stall, a tombola and a raffle. Tea, coffee and cakes were served during the day.
