A GARDEN designer has picked up a coveted silver medal from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Andy Tudbury from Hucknall landed the medal during the Gardeners’ World live show being held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Despite horrendous weather conditions, including torrential rain, Andy has been awarded the medal for his show garden entitled Halcyon Days.

This comes after a two year absence from the show circuit.

Andy, who runs the firm Halcyon Days Garden Design from Papplewick Lane in the town, scooped a silver gilt medal at the 2010 Sandringham Flower Show.

He decided to take a break from show gardens in 2011, having previously designed and built three inside a year.

Meanwhile, the show at the NEC in Birmingham will runs until this Sunday.
