SATURDAY (July 28) is the tenth anniversary of an annual fundraising garden party in Hucknall in memory of a man killed in a tragic motorbike accident.
Paul Basford (32) and his partner, Tina Artingstall (37), who lived together in Bulwell, were both killed in the crash near Barton-in-Fabis, Nottinghamshire, in September 2001.
Since 2003, Paul’s family have held a fundraising event in the back garden of their home at 362 Watnall Road, with proceeds for the East Midlands Ambulance Service. Since that time, the garden party has become a well-supported attraction in Hucknall every year.
The organisers are delighted that, over the years, a total of £10.000 has been raised for this cause. Attractions at this year’s garden party will include a a barbecue, a tombola, a raffle plus new and bric-a-brac stalls. Tea, coffee and cakes will be provided and everyone is welcome.
