A LUNCH laid on for the over-60s in Bulwell will pave the way for a programme of activities for elderly residents.

The event, at the Healthy Living Community Centre on Lawton Drive, Bulwell Hall, attracted 39 residents, who enjoyed a meal and then some chair-based exercise to music.

It was laid on by the Bulwell Hall Tenants And Residents Association, with funding from the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.

It is hoped the event will lead to a range of clubs and classes in the future, with a focus on exercise and health and wellbeing for the over-60s.

Tenants and reidents association chairman Sheila Loades said: “It gave people a chance to come together and, hopefully, we can capitalise on that.”
