A CONCERT entitled ‘Music For An Autumn Evening’ has been lined up to boost the £150,000 restoration fund at Hucknall Parish Church.
The Bluecoat Singers, of Nottingham, will take centre stage at the Market Place church on Saturday November 12 with a repertoire of popular classics, light opera and songs from West End shows.
Money raised will go towards a bid to protect the crumbling tower at the historic church where the poet Lord Byron is buried.
The Dispatch revealed earlier this year that an architectural assessment of the church revealed cracks in the tower.
Church leaders took action by launching a fighting fund with the aim of raising enough cash to carry out the work before the building became unsafe.
A series of charity events have been staged, including a previous concert at the church by the Hucknall and Linby Mining Community Brass band.
