POLICE are appealing to the Bulwell community to help find a ‘Good Samaritan’ who came to the aid of a woman who later reported an assault.
The attack happened at about 12 midday on Saturday April 14, when a woman was allegedly pushed and held in a wooden doorway leading up to flats above Willows News and The Cash Shop on Main Street, Bulwell.
“We believe another woman came to her aid,” said Pc Jason Tolputt.
“She asked if she was okay, but was assured by the man that everything was fine. But everything wasn’t fine and the victim subsequently reported she was assaulted.
If you are the woman who enquired after the welfare of the victim then Nottinghamshire Police are asking you to call them immediately as they need your help.
The female witness is described as white, in her late 40s and about 5’ 3” tall. She has brown, curly, shoulder-length hair and is of slim build. She was wearing a hat and a blue, lightweight coat over casual clothing.
The victim and man were both white and aged in their 20s.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested and bailed but detectives are still keen to hear from anyone with any information.
If you remember helping the woman or have information, contact Nottinghamshire police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
