FIRE-eating and a councillor dressed up as a clown were two of the highlights of the annual summer fair at St Mary’s Church, Bulwell.
Associate priest, the Rev Andy Morris, demonstrated his sizzling talent, while his wife, Coun Jackie Morris (Lab), a Bulwell member of Nottingham City Council, entertained youngsters by dressing as Poppy the clown.
A total of £947 was raised from the event, which was co-ordinated by the social committee and led by Gillian Naylor.
Attractions included a barbecue, craft tables, hook-a-duck, bric-a-brac, plants and shrubs stall, cake stall and tombola.
Trips up the tower at the church on Highbury Road were also on offer.
Entertainment inside the church came from Hilarie Dobbin, Clovis Mafike and Michael Rovetto — a trio from Bulwell’s Christian Fellowship on Strelley Street.
