HOME-made festive decorations and knitted teddy bears helped the Hucknall branch of the Salvation Army collect a total £712 from its Christmas bazaar.
The event was held last Saturday at the organisation’s base on High Street. Its craft club had workend hard in the preceding months to create items to sell.
The cash was collected in just two hours as a steady flow of visitors, totalling more than 100, supported the bazaar.
Other attractions included stalls selling bric-a-brac, books, cakes and toys touted as ideal Christmas presents.
Refreshments, including teas and coffees, did a roaring trade
Treasurer Bob Paulson said: “Normally, people descend like locusts and then leave. But this year, we had a steady stream of visitors. It was a good day.”
