Hundreds of jobseekers flocked to Hucknall’s John Godber Centre on Friday to find out about work opportunities.
The jobs fair was organised by Sherwood MP Mark Spencer, who hailed the event as a success, with over 400 people attending.
He said: “The employers have been absolutely fantastic. Brilliant opportunities for jobs, apprenticeships, and other training were all on offer and it is fantastic to see so many people willing to take that step towards finding their ideal job.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all those local businesses who attended the Jobs Fair and offered help and advice to our visitors. A big thank you must also go
“to all those visitors who turned up throughout the day despite the appalling weather and made that effort to come along.
Mr Spencer added: “I really think it is so important to allow those looking for opportunities and those offering opportunities to network together, and if just a couple of people secure jobs as a result of the jobs fair then it was worth it.
“It was also very positive to see so many young people in attendance as there were some excellent opportunities
offered by the army, RAF, NHS and many more.
“Overall the feedback has been very positive and I do hope we can hold another Jobs Fair in the Future.”
