Hucknall’s National Academy pupils donate coats for Eastern European orphan charity

CARING pupils of Hucknall National Church of England Academy have made sure orphan children in Eastern Europe are better able to cope with freezing winters.

They have come up with strong support for the Operation Orphan charity, which supplies coats for needy youngsters.

The pupils donated a total of 620 coats they had grown out of to help keep the orphans warm.

“The coats are greatly needed because the children benefiting from them would have been in danger of freezing to death,” said an academy spokeswoman.
