THE LONG-running saga surrounding the disappearance of a much-loved Hucknall raccoon named Elmo continues after dramatic evidence that the pet is still alive.
Elmo escaped from her large outdoor enclosure at a house on Yorke Street in the town on Saturday June 4.
Since then, the Dispatch has been following the hunt to bring her back home and has renewed several appeals from upset owner Joe Coupe.
Now it has been revealed that Elmo has been spotted again on William Street and Belle Isle Road where a resident has taken shots of her on his digital camera.
A trap has been set in Hucknall to try and capture the raccoon. But Joe is appealing, through the social-networking website Facebook, for anyone who has a humane fox-trap or cat-trap he could borrow.
Previously Elmo has been spotted on Derbyshire Lane — just yards from her home. Anyone who spots the pet or can help Joe should call him on 07540 974699.
