THE QUEEN of the jungle, ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’ winner Stacey Solomon, has been revealed as the headline act for this year’s Ashfield Show.
Solomon (pictured) captured the hearts of the British TV-watching public when she won the hit ITV1 reality show.
She is also well-known for finishing third place in ‘The X Factor’ in 2009.
Already this year, she has been voted Mother Of The Year and has co-presented the TV show. ‘Sing If You Can’, with comedian Keith Lemon.
Last month, she sang the national anthem at the FA Cup final at Wembley. She is also the face of Iceland TV adverts and a marketing campaign for East Midlands Trains, which runs Hucknall, Bulwell and Newstead’s Robin Hood train line.
Now the infectious singer will take centre stage at Ashfield Show at Sutton Lawn, Sutton-in-Ashfield on Saturday August 13.
Other acts lined up for the evening show on the East Midlands Trains Main Stage include the Greatest Take That Tribute, who will perform the hits of the revived boy band.
Organiser Ashfield District Council is also hoping to capitalise on the popularity of the TV show ‘Glee’, thanks to a performance on the main stage by The Glee Club.
Visitors to the show, which is one of the biggest free events in the East Midlands, will be able to enjoy a whole host of attractions for all the family throughout the day.
These include Festival Circus, a funfair, crafts and stalls, Bog Hogg’s sheepdog and duck display, a demonstration from the Bestwood Village-based Dance Divaz group, Jamie Squibb’s freestyle motorcycle stunt and display team, the Chariots Of Fire horse stunt team, and an eagle and vulture display.
In addition, there will be a food court, licensed bar area, a horticulture tent and much more.
For many, the highlight will be the main music stage, above which there will be a spectacular fireworks display to round off the show.
