Jason Zadrozny has been selected to take on Ashfield Labour MP Gloria De Piero for the Liberal Democrats in the next general election.
Ashfield-born Zadrozny was chosen by the party as their prospective parliamentary candidate for the Ashfield and Eastwood constituency at a meeting at the district council offices on 20th September.
He will now fight for the parliamentary seat alongside De Piero, who became Ashfield MP in 2010 with a majority of 192, after former defence secretary Geoff Hoon stepped down.
Zadrozny, who serves as a counsellor on both Ashfield District Council and Nottinghamshire County Council, told the Chad: “Jason said, “It’s an honour to be re-selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Ashfield.
“I am really looking forward to getting out on the campaign trail again, and continuing to meet more local residents and businesses.
“I have been fortunate to have been a local councillor for the past six years. I have dealt with many issues facing local residents and I want to bring that experience to Ashfield as the local MP.”
