Lifeline meals on wheels delivers

TURKEY and all the trimmings are the order of the day for pensioners in Hucknall who have received some festive cheer courtesy of Notts County Council’s meals on wheels service.

The lifeline service is busy delivering Christmas dinners and dessert to customers across the county — individuals and lunch clubs — so they can enjoy this festive treat, either in the comfort of their own home or with friends and neighbours in community centres.

“Christmas time would not be the same without a turkey dinner and all the trimmings,” said Coun Kevin Rostance (Con), Hucknall’s chairman of the council’s adult social care and health committee. “It is important that the meals at home service offers a festive meal for all its customers.

“The service is also enabling luncheon clubs across the county to have a Christmas get-together with a tasty dinner.”

The meal consists of everybody’s favourite and traditional turkey treat, including Christmas pudding and brandy sauce.

Countless luncheon clubs will also be taking delivery of the seasonal supper for Christmas community gatherings to go with a swing.

The council will be producing 1,814 frozen Christmas dinners, 1,048 luncheon club Christmas dinners and 1,700 indi

vidual Christmas dinners to be delivered county-wide.
