BOSSES at Ashfield District Council have announced that this year’s Ashfield Festival will take place at Sutton Lawn on 6th July.

The festival will again be linked to the Active Ashfield Games and will build upon Ashfield’s sporting and cultural legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Last year’s event was cancelled due to bad weather - but now it is back with opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy a day of sport, music, entertainment and attractions, including a funfair and music stage which will provide the evening concert finale.

Councillor John Wilmott said, “The Ashfield Festival will bring together our communities to enjoy a fun packed family day. We are well ahead with the planning this year and looking forward to delivering a great event.”

Updates will be on www.ashfield-dc.gov.uk and the council’s Facebook page. For details call Theresa Hodgkins on Mansfield 457588.
